It could have been 3-1, but for a great save from the Blades' stand-in goalie. Loader fed Barrett down the right as the ball was intercepted high upfield - Charlesworth headed round the post as it threatened to creep in.

It took an extra 30 minutes, but the Royals secured passage to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup at the expense of Sheffield United. The Blades led until stoppage time but Osho's equaliser forced 30 extra minutes; Barrett's spot-kick and Loader's smart finish gave the Royals the win!
